Tashard Choice Cut By The Redskins

Choice made his debut for the 'Skins last Sunday against Dallas

Tashard Choice’s rough season got even rougher on Tuesday, when he was cut by the Washington Redskins, just two days after he made his debut for the team against his old team, the Dallas Cowboys, and just around three weeks after being waived by Dallas.

In that game, Choice posted just seven yards on six carries.

Since being drafted in the fourth round in 2008, Choice has struggled to find a place in the NFL. He showed flashes of promise in his rookie season with Dallas, when injuries to Marion Barber and Felix Jones allowed Choice an opportunity to carry the ball--and he did well, in the limited chances given.

But when Jones and Barber returned, Choice went back to being a rarely-used reserve. In the past couple of seasons, he had been used as the quarterback in the team’s “Razorback” formation, with mixed but generally unimpressive results. In 2011, he has struggled with injuries, which were a major factor, along with the rise of DeMarco Murray, in Choice’s release from Dallas.
