Jones “Doubtful” That Cowboys Will Trade Choice

Judging by his remarks today on 105.3 The Fan, Jerry Jones has entertained some calls concerning running back Tashard Choice, but, thanks in part to the ankle injury to starter Felix Jones that will keep him out between 3-4 weeks, Jones doubts that a deal is on the horizon.

Jones said today that two teams have come calling about the Georgia Tech product Choice.

"Any time anybody calls you, you give it some thought," Jones said, via ESPN Dallas. "But with the injury to Felix and where he is with his sprained ankle, I’m doubtful that anything will happen there. And, no, I don’t see any other trade possibilities."

With Jones sidelined, the Cowboys will turn to Choice and rookie DeMarco Murray. Choice has just 67 yards on 26 carries on the season. Murray has similar, but slightly better numbers, with 71 yards on 24 attempts. Neither has found the end zone through limited time in five games.

But despite the pedestrian numbers, the injury to Jones will likely keep Choice in Dallas, at least for the final year of his rookie contract.
