Bennett Struggling With Rib Injury

Martellus Bennett suffered a rib injury in the first half of the loss to Arizona on Sunday

Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett is dealing with a rib injury which could threaten his availability for this Sunday night’s matchup with the New York Giants.

Bennett suffered the injury in the first half of the team’s 19-13 overtime loss to the Cardinals, and was forced to miss the second half. He reportedly underwent an X-ray examination at University of Phoenix Stadium, and an additional battery of tests Monday at Valley Ranch.

According to Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News, Bennett left the facility Monday with a smile, but told reporters earlier in the day that he was having a hard time breathing.

Asked if he would play Sunday night against the Giants, Bennett said, “I don’t have any idea.”
