Back On The Active Roster, Harris Ready For “Whatever They Need Me To Do”

Dwayne Harris was promoted to the active roster on Wednesday

According to Dwayne Harris, who was recently promoted to the active roster presumably to help in the return game, coaches have yet to discuss with him what sort of role he might have on Saturday night, his return to live action, but he’s just happy to be suiting up for a game once more.

A rookie out of East Carolina, Harris has appeared in five games this season while bouncing between the active roster and the practice squad. All of his contribution has come in the return game, where we’d imagine he’ll stay--as, with the injury to DeMarco Murray, Felix Jones will likely be taken off of return duties.

"Whatever they need me to do," Harris said, per the Dallas Morning News. "I love punt returns. I love kickoff returns. So, whatever one they need me to do. If it's run down there on kickoffs and get taken out by a wedge, I'll do it."

But if Dallas should need Harris to line up at wide receiver, Harris believes he’s better prepared to play the position at the pro level than he was when he first entered the league as a fourth round pick, or even when he was last on the 53-man roster.

"From three weeks ago until now, I think my route running has probably got a little better, and I'm just getting more comfortable playing," Harris said. "Everything is starting to move a little slower and get a lot easier."
