Zack Martin Plays Through the Pain

Martin missed practice all last week with an ankle injury

Cowboys rookie right guard Zack Martin played through an ankle injury in Sunday’s 42-7 victory over the Colts on Sunday, after being held out of practice all week.

A little rusty here and there,” Martin said of his performance, per the Dallas Morning News. “It felt good to get back out there but I definitely want to make sure I’m out on the practice field next week, getting ready for Washington.”

Unlike Martin, right tackle Doug Free wasn’t able play. It’s unclear if he’ll return for the regular season finale next week in Washington but, if he can’t, Jermey Parnell will get his second consecutive start. Earlier in the season, Parnell started three games as Free dealt with a foot injury.

“We played three games like this earlier this season,” Martin said. “So it was no big deal.”
