Warren Sapp Predicts Another 8-8 Finish for Dallas

Sapp does expect the defense to improve somewhat under his old pal Rod Marinelli

Hall of Fame defensive lineman turned NFL Network analyst Warren Sapp played under Dallas Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli for eight seasons in Tampa Bay, and he thinks quite highly of the man. But Sapp also believes his old coach can do only so much to repair a defense that is coming off the worst statistical season in franchise history.

“Our friend Marinelli is down there, so I’m going to give a little faith that this defense will be a little better,” Sapp said, via the Dallas Morning News. “There’ll be some other areas they break out at.”

Praise for Marinelli aside, both Sapp and his NFL Network mate, former 49ers and Lions head coach Rod Marinelli predicted a fourth consecutive 8-8 finish for the Cowboys.
