Warren Moon Praises Justin Blackmon By Ripping Dez Bryant

Moon recently described Blackmon as "like Dez Bryant with all his brain cells"

We can glean a couple things from Warren Moon’s interview with KIRO AM 710 in Seattle, Washington this week. First, Moon is a huge fan of Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon. Second, Moon is not so much of a fan of former Oklahoma State receiver, and current Dallas Cowboy Dez Bryant.

In order to convey his message--that Blackmon is “a beast,” to use his words--the Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback absolutely blasted Bryant by comparison.

"He’s a beast, isn’t he? He’s like Dez Bryant with all of his brain cells," Moon said, via the Dallas Morning News. "He’s a guy that has all those skills that Dez Bryant has but he’s not the knucklehead that Dez Bryant has turned out to be with Dallas. And a much better route runner than Dez Bryant is, but a very tremendous talent."

Granted, Bryant has had his “knucklehead” moments since arriving in Dallas.

But no one’s doubting whether Blackmon is a tremendous talent. He has won the Biletnikoff Award as the Nation’s best wide receiver in two consecutive years, and is a surefire first round draft pick after declaring for the NFL Draft.

Considering all this, we don’t really think it was necessary for Moon to take aim at Bryant in such a drastic manner in order to make a point that is already accepted as fact--that Blackmon is really, really good--particularly considering that the question didn’t so much as mention Bryant.
