Ware Expected To Play

Matt Barrie, who is in New Orleans with the team, has reported that DeMarcus Ware will play tonight against the Saints in New Orleans.

Ware suffered a strained neck in last week's 20-17 loss to the San Diego Chargers, and was carted off the field with his head in a stabilizer. He improved steadily through the week, participating in some portions of practice on Thursday. He was listed as questionable leading into tonight's match-up at the Superdome.

When Matt asked Ware if he would play tonight, the All-Pro linebacker confirmed that he would with a thumbs-up, the universal sign for all-systems-go, as popularized by Arthur Fonzarelli.

Going against the top-rated offense in football, Ware's return could be a difference-maker for the Cowboys, who have asserted all week the importance of getting pressure on the Saints' Drew Brees. Suiting up arguably the best pass rusher in football should help them in this regard.

Should Ware be limited at all, expect rookie Victor Butler to pick up the slack. Butler replaced Ware in last week's game and has three sacks and a forced fumble on the year.
