Ware: “I Was Honored to Wear the Star”

DeMarcus Ware left Dallas for Denver last week after nine seasons with the Cowboys

After nine seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, DeMarcus Ware was cut last week, freeing him up to sign a three-year, $30 million with the Denver Broncos.

Aside from expressing some disappointment (through his agent Pat Dye) in how open Jerry Jones was with the media concerning his age and his health, Ware has had nothing but high praise for his old boss and the organization as a whole.

Ware, the franchise’s all-time sack leader with 117, tweeted his gratitude on Monday.

“Really excited about my new opportunity with the Denver Broncos but need to back up and once again thank Mr. Jones, Bill Parcells, and the Dallas Cowboys for giving me a chance in this league & everything the organization did for me through the years,” Ware tweeted. “I was honored to wear the Star alongside my former teammates & will always hold a special place in my heart for the Cowboys Nation and the Dallas community.”
