Ware Bounced From First Round of “Madden 12” Voting

And the cover boy for EA Sports’ Madden 12 is...

Not DeMarcus Ware.

The Dallas Cowboys’ All-Pro outside linebacker was bounced from the NCAA-style tournament in the first round, routed by his real-life rival Michael Vick. Vick received 76 percent of the vote, the second greatest margin of victory for any of the winners in the first round of voting.

Only Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan earned a more decisive victory over his opening round opponent. He bested Cleveland Browns’ running back Peyton Hillis with 89 percent of the vote.

Of course, the contest is more or less meaningless, meaning that Cowboys fans shouldn’t be all that upset about Ware losing out to Vick, regardless of how decisive his victory was. And aside from that, as we all know, the Madden cover is cursed.

So really, in this instance, shouldn’t we be rooting for a division foe?
