Ware Believes Romo is an Elite NFL QB

DeMarcus Ware thinks his quarterback is right there among the best in the NFL

Just how good is Tony Romo as a quarterback?

The answer to that question will vary wildly depending on who you ask. Some folks think he flat out sucks (they’re wrong, mind you, but the opinion is certainly out there), while others believe him to be among the uppermost echelon of NFL QBs. In Oxnard, Ca. earlier this week, DeMarcus Ware let it be known that he belonged to the latter group--even going so far as to say that Romo’s less-than-impressive history in the postseason isn’t necessarily his fault.

"When you have a quarterback that wins a championship--like an Eli (Manning) or Drew Brees or any of those guys, (Ben) Roethlisberger--those guys get put on a different pedestal once they got to that championship," Ware told ESPNDallas.com this week. "(It is) because everyone around knew what it took to get there.

"I look at (Romo) and say he is (an elite quarterback). He's been that way every year. We've just got to find some way to get there. It takes a team. It's not just the offense, it's not just the defense or special teams. It takes everybody putting in, as Jerry Jones says, 'Emptying the bucket,' and just doing what we need to do."
