Wade Phillips Rounds Out Staff in Houston With Former Cowboys' Assistant

Former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys Wade Phillips rounded out his defensive staff for the 2011 season on Friday afternoon when he brought former assistant defensive quality control coach Bobby King into the fold for the Houston Texans in a similar role.

King spent his first season as a coach in the NFL in 2010 under Phillips.

Previously, he had served in similar roles with West Texas A&M, Baylor, and at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he played in college with Wade’s son and assistant offensive line coach for the Cowboys, Wes Phillips.

Wade Phillips was hired as the defensive coordinator for the Texans in January, and, with the addition of King, has now hired two staff members from his tenure in Dallas. The other is linebackers coach Reggie Herring, who signed with Houston last month.
