Wade Lands Another Coaching Gig

Shortly after being fired on November the eighth, former Cowboys’ head coach Wade Phillips told reporters that he was interested in coaching again--and apparently, he meant it. The ousted head coach has landed another gig, albeit a significantly less glamorous one than he had in Dallas.

As reported in the Dallas Morning News, Phillips will coach the West team in the East-West Shrine game, the annual college all-star game and pre-draft showcase for seniors. Opposing Wade as the head coach of the East will be former Cowboy and almost-Cowboys-assistant under Wade, Dan Reeves.

Phillips also coached under Reeves when the two were in Atlanta, Reeves as head coach and Phillips as defensive coordinator.

The game will be played in Orlando, Florida on January 22. And while we won’t venture any predictions as to the outcome of the game, we’re pretty sure that, at some point in the contest, the camera will pan to Wade and he’ll look vaguely confused.
