Tyron Smith Returns After MRI on Ankle

Smith was forced to exit practice early on Wednesday with an ankle issue

Dallas Cowboys left tackle and reigning offensive player of the week Tyron Smith was forced to miss most of the team portion of Wednesday’s practice to undergo an MRI on his ankle, but he was back on Thursday after the results came back negative.

Apparently, Smith’s ankle was hurt during last Sunday’s victory over the Seahawks in Seattle, but the MRI on Wednesday came back negative.

“It (MRI results) came back that it was a positive for us if that makes sense,” head coach Jason Garrett said on Thursday, employing some delightful wordplay.

Obviously, seeing Smith return to the field will bring a sigh of relief for Dallas coaches, who have already lost one tackle this week, in Doug Free, who will miss three to four weeks with a fractured foot, also suffered in the Seattle game.
