Tony Romo Visits His Biggest Fan in the Hospital

Cheyenne Knapp, a 13-year-old in the fight of her life, received yet another surprise from her favorite Dallas Cowboys player on Monday.

You may remember Knapp, a die-hard Cowboys fan, who was surprised around Thanksgiving when Tony Romo sent her an autographed football.

On Monday, she got another surprise from No. 9 when he walked into her room at Children's Medical Center Dallas.

"Hey, hi Cheyenne, how's it going? Can I get a high five?" Romo said.

There was little question that the visit lifted her spirits and Romo says he was happy to do it.

"I know Cheyenne's story", Romo said. "She has loving parents and great people around her. She has an infectious personality and it rubs off on everyone, and it was great to get to meet her and say 'hi.'"

Knapp was getting ready for surgery when Romo walked in with Jason Witten and Jean Jones. There's no doubt Romo's visit put a smile on her face.

"I just went 'oh my gosh!'" Knapp said. "He's my favorite football player. That was cool."

The visit came at the right time, Knapp was about to enter her sixth surgery as she battles MRSA after a hip injury.

"I have not seen her smile like that in weeks," said Cheyenne's mother Candace Knapp. "She just found out this morning she was going to have to go back in surgery, so she's been upset, so to see her smile like that, even the nurses were like 'whoa there's a smile,' so it was awesome."
