Tiger Woods: Romo's “a Hell of a Golfer”

Woods and Tony Romo will pair up for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend

In an interview with ESPN’s Colleen Dominguez on Tuesday, Tiger Woods discussed the upcoming Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and lauded the golfing prowess of his playing partner, Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo.

According to the accompanying article on ESPN Dallas today, Romo has been texting Woods and sending him video of his swing in anticipation of the tournament for a few weeks now.

"He's just so fired up about playing," Woods said. "He's a hell of a golfer to begin with. He's a scratch golfer. To him this is like a dream come true for him to come out and play in this type of event."

Woods continued that Romo wasn’t content to merely enjoy a few days on the links.

"He wants to not just make the cut," Woods said. "He wants to win the tournament so he's trying to figure out, 'How many birdies I need to make and blah blah blah.' And I said, 'OK, well, why don't we just both play well at the same time.'"
