Texas Tech RB: Playing For Cowboys Would be “A Dream”

Eric Stephens grew up rooting for the Cowboys in Mansfield, Texas

Texas Tech product Eric Stephens was one of the five running backs to be invited to “Dallas Day” last week, and the Mansfield native readily admits that he would love to join the Dallas Cowboys--the team he grew up watching with his family in Mansfield.

"It would definitely be a dream to come to Dallas," Stephens said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I would be happy anywhere but to come to team I grew up watching as a kid would be a dream come true. My whole family is Cowboys fans. I know their situation. I'm keeping my hopes up."

There’s no doubt that Dallas will be looking for running back help in the draft, even though that position isn’t exactly priority No. 1. Starter DeMarco Murray missed six games last season--in which the team set a franchise record for fewest rushing yards in a 16-game season--and No. 2 guy Felix Jones, a free agent, is all but gone.
