Texans Sign Lamar Miller, Cowboys Fans Not Happy

The Cowboys showed interest in running back Lamar Miller but Houston showed Miller the money and he took it.

The first day of free agency is about overpaying and the Texans gave Miller a 4-year contract for $26 million and $14 million is guaranteed.

Other free agent running backs to agree to deal on the first day of free agency: Chris Ivory signed with Jacksonville; Matt Forte landed with the Jets and Doug Martin re-upped in Tampa Bay.

My Twitter page is full of Cowboys fans who are not happy, but I think not overpaying for Martin a good thing.

Dallas should draft a running back. It’s cheaper.

Drew Pearson told me on NBC 5 that he believes the Cowboys would be wise to draft Ohio State stud running back Ezekiel Elliott in the first round because he believes he can bring the type of production the Cowboys got out of DeMarco Murray his last season with America’s Team.

If the Cowboys wait until the second round to draft a back, I’m a fan of this guy.

Derrick Henry is not on my list of running backs the Cowboys should draft because he does not catch the football.

He only caught the ball 17 times in three seasons at Alabama. That basically makes him Brandon Jacobs, the old Giants running back who was a complimentary player and goal line specialist.

You don’t use a 2nd round draft pick on a two down player.
