Report: Tentative Schedule Set for Cowboys Training Camp

The Dallas Cowboys are tentatively scheduled to begin training camp practices on July 29 at the Alamodome, an official for the City of San Antonio said on Friday, per MySanAntonio.com.

The team will begin moving equipment into the venue on July 25, said Mike Sawaya, who heads San Antonio’s convention, sports and entertainment venues. If the lockout comes to an end in time, the annual pep rally and concert will take place on July 28, the day before the workouts begin.

Then again, if the lockout continues deep into this month, the Cowboys may be forced to stay put and hold camp at team headquarters at Valley Ranch. Several teams have already announced plans to do the same, but the Cowboys have held off on making such an announcement as city officials in San Antonio remain “cautiously optimistic” that the team will make the trip down I-35 for camp as usual.

According to Sawaya, the Cowboys have the Alamodome reserved through August 13.
