T.O. Says He Reached Out to Cowboys After Dez Injury

Terrell Owens was the Cowboys' No. 1 receiver from 2006-2008

Terrell Owens: Once and future Cowboy?

Probably not.

But Owens did tell The Rich Eisen Show that he had his agent reach out to the Cowboys after Dez Bryant suffered a fractured foot in the season opening victory over the New York Giants, to offer his services to the team with which he spent three very productive seasons from 2006-2008, before being cut and kind of (sort of) blaming Tony Romo and Jason Witten for his release on his way out the door.

I’m not sure what the situation is,” Owens said, via Pro Football Talk. “My name may have come up in discussion as far as bringing me in. But again, a lot of people are going to factor in my age as far as why I can’t play.”

Owens himself is well aware that he didn’t leave Dallas under the most harmonious circumstances.

“We all know what happened when I was there, and there were some things said where it kind of maybe fractured the relationship between myself and Witten and Romo,” Owens said. “Time has passed, and hopefully, they know that I’ve moved on beyond that. Maybe, hopefully, they have. But for me, it’s all about giving myself an opportunity. That’s all I ever really wanted.”
