Sterling Moore Hoping to Return Thursday

Moore has been frustrated by a groin injury for the past week

Cowboys cornerback Sterling Moore has been frustrated by a groin injury for the past week, but he’s hopeful he can return to practice on Thursday.

I don’t know, I just talk to the trainers,” Moore told the team’s website. “They’ve got to get together and they’ve got to talk to Garrett. My hope is that I can get out there and do some things tomorrow, but then again, that was my hope today. So we’ll see how it goes.”

Desire to return aside, Moore acknowledged that there was a very real danger of having a setback whenever you’re dealing with a groin. He knows this well, as he already suffered one setback this preseason.

“I think the biggest thing is that I think I came back a day too early last week against the Raiders,” he said, referring to the teams’ joint practices last Tuesday and Wednesday. “That’s what we’re trying to avoid now.”

In two years with the Cowboys, Moore has recorded 14 tackles, three passes defensed and one interception while appearing in ten games.
