Spencer Probably Out For Season Opener

Anthony Spencer reportedly had a setback in his recovery from knee surgery last weekend

The bad news for the Dallas Cowboys defensive line just keeps a-coming.

The latest is that defensive end Anthony Spencer did not practice on Friday and is not expected to play in the season opener against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night, according to the Dallas Morning News.

There had been a lot of hemming and hawing coming from Dallas, saying that, despite his having undergone arthroscopic knee surgery around the beginning of training camp, he would play against the Giants. But Spencer told reporters this week that he suffered a setback over the weekend.

Also expected to miss the Week 1 match-up with New York are DT Ben Bass, S Danny McCray and RB Lance Dunbar.
