Spencer Has “No Doubts” He'll Play in 2014

Anthony Spencer is recovering from microfracture surgery on his knee

Anthony Spencer began running on the field again this week, a big step in his rehab from microfracture surgery on his knee, but there is still no timetable for his return to live action.

But Spencer says he has no doubt that he’ll be on the field before the year is out.

“I’m sure some other people have their doubts, but I don’t have any doubts, no," Spencer said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

It’s a long road back for Spencer, who appeared in just one game last year before going under the knife for the aforementioned, season-ending surgery, and the 2012 Pro Bowler isn’t deluding himself into thinking otherwise. That said, he’s encouraged by the steady improvement he’s seen so far.

"Because of the progress that I see, I've seen not being able to walk to being able to walk to being able to run," Spencer said. "I feel good about it."
