Special Teams Coordinator Joe DeCamillis Headed To Chicago

The exodus of Cowboys coaches continued on Wednesday

The exodus of Cowboys coaches continues.

Per David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis has opted to accept the same position with the Chicago Bears. He had one year left on his contract, but Dallas let him out of the deal. DeCamillis had previously interviewed for the Bears’ head coaching position, though we doubt if he ever had a real shot at the job.

DeCamillis is the second coordinator to depart Dallas already this offseason, joining former defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, who was canned suddenly last week. Other staffers now gone include running backs coach Skip Peete and assistant strength and conditioning coach Walt Williams.

The team may also soon lose passing game coordinator and tight ends coach (and brother of Jason Garrett) John Garrett, as he applied for the head coaching gig at the University of Delaware this week.
