Sources: Cowboys Not Interested In Sharper

It was announced earlier this week that the Dallas Cowboys were likely suitors for the services of safety Darren Sharper, who spent last season with the world champion New Orleans Saints.

Sharper is 34, and will turn 35 in November, and he is coming off of knee surgery. However, he seems a good candidate to lend Dallas some safety help outside of Alan Ball, who currently figures to start in place of the departed Ken Hamlin--that is, if the team was interested.

According to recently surfaced reports contradictory of the initial batch, they may not be.

ESPNDallas.com cites "multiple team sources" in saying that the Dallas Cowboys are not currently interested in the services of Sharper, who is currently visiting the Jaguars in Jacksonville.

Of course, this doesn't rule out the possibility that, barring a signing in Jacksonville, the team could get interested in the near future. Despite the knee surgery, Sharper is expected to be ready for training camp.
