Selvie, Scandrick Fined For Illegal Hits Vs. Bears

George Selvie and Orlando Scandrick are facing a pair of fines stemming from the loss to Chicago

Cowboys defensive end George Selvie and cornerback Orlando Scandrick have been informed by the NFL that they’ll be fined for illegal hits dished out in the 45-28 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday.

According to ESPN Dallas, Selvie was fined $15,750 for a roughing the passer penalty, called when Selvie hit Bears quarterback Josh McCown low while trying to finish a sack.

Scandrick was docked $21,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty on Bears receiver Brandon Marshall. Replays showed that Scandrick left his feet, while leading with his helmet, and ended up making helmet-to-helmet contact with Marshall (who made the catch anyway).

As per usual in the NFL, both players will probably appeal the fines.
