Selvie Says He'll Be Ready for 49ers

George Selvie is coming off offseason shoulder surgery

Cowboys defensive end George Selvie is still feeling the effects of offseason shoulder surgery, but he’s confident he’ll be ready for the regular season opener against the 49ers.

"I'm just taking it easy," Selvie said, per ESPN Dallas. "I had the surgery in the offseason, so it's a little sore right now. We're just taking it a little easy. Everything should be good. Everything's good. I'll be out there."

Selvie took what he believes was just a minor shot to the shoulder in the dress rehearsal game against the Dolphins last weekend, and has been held out of practice all week.

Last year, Selvie was a kind of a revelation for the Cowboys, his fifth team in four seasons in the league. In 16 games, he recorded 39 tackles, 22 quarterback pressures and seven sacks, more than anyone on the team aside from Jason Hatcher.
