Joseph Randle has shown flashes of brilliance on the field. But again today he’s displaying flashes of immaturity off it.
For the second time in less than four months the Cowboys’ running back has run afoul of the law, this time in Wichita, Kansas where this morning he was ticketed for possession of marijuana.
Randle's agent, Los Angeles-based Erik Burkhardt, says, however, that Randle wasn't arrested but merely ticketed. "He was cited with a ticket," Burkhardt said on Twitter, "and the police then left his room and (Randle) went to bed."
Explained Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza to KSN.com, "It is considered an arrest because of the small amount of marijuana found in the room. Officers have the discretionary to cite and give a court date which was due in this situation."
Randle, 23, was reportedly in a hotel room arguing with a 22-year-old woman with whom he shares a child. When police were called on a report of domestic violence, they found marijuana in the room and Randle was ticketed.
He also, of course, was infamously arrested in October for shoplifting underwear and cologne from Stonebriar Mall in Frisco.
Appearing in all 16 games and rushing for 343 yards and three touchdowns on only 51 carries, Randle led many fans to believe he could be the replacement and No. 1 back should DeMarco Murray leave via free agency.

But whether you consider him a knucklehead or now a troublemaker, Randle’s actions are now raising more red flags and serious doubts. This incident surely gives Murray more leverage in negotiating with the Cowboys, while prompting the front office to question whether they can trust Randle.
