Rookie Offensive Linemen Sporting New, Ugly Haircuts

A group of rookies in San Antonio are giving the term “big uglies” a new meaning altogether.

Each of the Dallas Cowboys’ four rookie offensive linemen in training camp showed up at practice on Thursday with new, and utterly grotesque haircuts, in what has become a tradition for the team over the past five years.

Will Barker, Phil Costa, Mike Tepper and Sam Young were the latest Cowboys’ rookies to have their locks mangled by the clippers of a veteran teammate, each walking away with (very) visual evidence of this distinct brand of NFL hazing.

Young and Barker each received a structurally questionable mohawk; Costa got a sort of checkerboard pattern; and, in the most hilarious turn, Tepper had the entire left side of his body buzzed, from, in the words of the Dallas Morning News, “head to hips.”

"We didn't tip the barber," joked Costa.
