Romo Shines in 4th Quarter Comeback Win

Given the ball back with 1:29 left on the clock and down six points, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo felt comfortable with what he was about to do.

“At that point, the rest of the game doesn’t matter,” Romo said.  “When there is a minute left in the game and we need a touchdown, I ask what parts of the field do I need to attack? What can I do?  We work on that stuff all the time, and we’ve been pretty successful here at it.”

The 13-year veteran quarterback proceeded to complete five-of-six passes as part of a 72-yard touchdown drive to seal a 27-26 win over the New York Giants, the game-winner coming on an 11-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jason Witten.  The comeback victory was the 24th for Romo since 2006.

The win over the Giants was the fifth in a row for the Cowboys.

“Any win is big,” Romo said.  “But obviously this one was against a division rival in our first week. The fact that we came out with a win was big.”
