Robert Griffin III Headed To NFL Draft

The Baylor quarterback and Heisman winner will make the announcement today

In news that should surprise absolutely no one, the Associated Press is reporting today that Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III will enter the NFL Draft.

Per USA Today, a press conference has been scheduled for 4 PM ET for Griffin III and Baylor head coach Art Briles, where Griffin will make the official announcement.

Griffin III is projected to be among the top picks at the 2012 NFL Draft in April, with many experts going so far as to project him as going ahead of Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, long thought to be the no-brainer first overall pick of this draft class.

Of course, since it’s the offseason, rumors will abound. But this news means little for the Cowboys, who will select 14th, long after Griffin III will be snatched up by a team with a need at the quarterback position--which, despite what some around town believe, the Cowboys don’t have at the moment.
