Rob Ryan Takes a Shot at the Eagles (We Think)

Between Buddy, Rex and Rob, the Ryan family has developed quite the reputation around the NFL for delivering quotes that make reporters salivate. Buddy did it with the Eagles, Rex with the Jets, and now it seems Rob is poised to do the same as the defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys, the team that most often drew the ire of his father.

What’s more, it appears that in his first bulletin-board-worthy-ish statement in Dallas, Rob Ryan took aim at his father’s old team, the Philadelphia Eagles, who have made headlines in free agency, landing high profile names like Nnamdi Asomugha, Cullen Jenkins and Vince Young.

"I don't know if we win the all-hype team," Ryan said, per the Dallas Morning News. "I think that might have gone to somebody else. But we're going to beat their [butt] when we play them."

Okay, so he didn’t name the Eagles outright, but given the circumstances, the recipient of the verbal jab is pretty clear. Either way, the two teams will meet on October 30 and again on December 24.
