Rex Ryan: We Will Win

Last season when the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns met — the first and only time Rex and Rob Ryan have squared off since Rex took over the head coaching job for the Jets — both brothers had some fun in the week leading up to the game.

Rex showed up to a mid-week press conference in a silver lion's mane wig to mimic Rob's unique hairstyle along with what appeared to be a beach ball stuffed in his shirt to poke fun at his brother's gut, which is bigger than Rex's.

In other words, it's going to be a media circus when Rob's new team, the Cowboys, heads up to the Meadowlands to face the Jets in the regular-season opener on Sept. 11, which will make things crazy in its own right.

Rex Ryan has already started the buildup by guaranteeing victory in the game in a conference call.

"I hate to do it to him again, but we're going to," Rex said, referring to the Jets 26-20 overtime victory over the Browns last season. "We've got to beat them."

It'll be interesting to see what Rob throws at his brother's team after a preseason which has been anything but awe-inspiring by the Cowboys defense after all the talk of Rob's unorthodox style that he admittedly was going to keep on the shelf in the preseason.

"Playing against my brother or coaching against my brother is always special," Rex said. "He's going to bring in a team that has a lot of talent, but our guys are going to be up for it."
