Reports: Marinelli May or May Not go to Tampa Bay

Ask anyone who kept up with Dallas Cowboys in 2013 who is the team's best assistant coach and it's pretty likely you'll get the answer of Rod Marinelli more times than not.

Marinelli came on board along with defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin this season, and while Kiffin struggled mightily and probably earned his ticket out of town, Marinelli was a great addition to the coaching staff and made a serviceable defensive line out of a bunch of no-names and a horribly absent DeMarcus Ware.

Now, he could be out of Dallas, himself, but not by the Cowboys' choice.

ESPN reports Marinelli will be the new defensive coordinator in Tampa Bay, where his best friend Lovie Smith is the new head coach.

The Associated Press, on the other hand, reports Smith will hire former Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier.

Smith and the Bucs would have to get permission from the Cowboys to speak with Marinelli, who is under contract in Dallas through next season.
