Report: Ware Wants Cowboys to Make a Decision

DeMarcus Ware wants to know if the Cowboys intend to keep him around or not before free agency starts this afternoon

With free agency just a few hours away, Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware wants an answer from the team regarding his future.

According to ESPNโ€™s Ed Werder, Ware would like to know whether the team intends to keep him around--probably with a restructured or reduced contract--or make him a cap casualty before the beginning of the free agency period, Tuesday at 3 PM CT.

Ware, the franchiseโ€™s all-time leader in sacks with 117, would be due $12.25 million in 2014. Heโ€™s coming off an injury-plagued and relatively unproductive season, in which he put up just 40 tackles and six sacks--both career lows. He also missed three games with a quad injury and underwent surgery to repair nerve damage in his elbow.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has acknowledged in recent weeks that there was a good chance the team would be forced to part ways with Ware, as a result of their cap issues.
