Report: Redskins Will Put Jason Hatcher on PUP List

Former Cowboys Jason Hatcher and Stephen Bowen will begin Redskins camp on the PUP list

Longtime Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher will start his first training camp with the Washington Redskins on the physically unable to perform list, ESPN 980 reports (via CSN Washington). He’ll be joined on the PUP list by fellow former Cowboys defensive lineman, Stephen Bowen.

Hatcher, who signed a four-year, $27.5 million deal with $10.5 million guaranteed back in March, is coming off arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. The procedure comes with a recovery time of four to six weeks, and he is a few weeks into it.

Bowen finished last season on the injured reserve with a knee issue of his own--a torn right PCL which required microfracture surgery. The timetable for his return is somewhat less clear than that of Hatcher.

Players can come off the PUP list at any time, and while they’re not permitted to practice until coming off, they can attend all team meetings and count against the 90-man camp roster.
