Report: Redskins Interviewing Rich Bisaccia

Rich Bisaccia spent 2013 as the Cowboys special teams coordinator

The Washington Redskins will interview Cowboys special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia for their head coaching vacancy on Friday, the Dallas Morning Morning News reports.

Bisaccia came to Dallas last offseason, replacing the Chicago-bound Joe DeCamillis, leaving a job at Auburn--less than a month after signing on with the Tigers--to take the Cowboys job. In 2011 and 2012, Bisaccia served as special teams coordinator for the San Diego Chargers.

From 2002-2010, Bisaccia was the special teams coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and for five of those seasons--from 2004 to 2008--he worked with general manager Bruce Allen, now the GM of the Redskins.

Per NFL rules, since it’s a head coaching vacancy, the Redskins did not need the Cowboys’ permission to interview Bisaccia--they just had to notify the team of their intention.
