Report: Ratliff Agrees To 5-Year, $40 Mil Extension

Citing a source close to the situation, ESPN Dallas’s Todd Archer has reported that Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff has agreed to a five-year extension with the Dallas Cowboys for around $40 million.

Ratliff’s agent Mark Slough has been present at Valley Ranch throughout the week, where negotiations were reportedly complicated by the fact that Ratliff still had two years on his previous deal. Obviously, this didn’t complicate things too much, as, according to Archer’s report, Ratliff is expected to sign following the Cowboys’ practice Friday.

The new deal includes $17 million in guaranteed money, and is set to run through 2017. At 30-years-old, Ratliff has earned three consecutive Pro Bowl nods while anchoring the Cowboys defensive front.
