Report: Linehan Not a Fan of RG3

2016 will be Scott Linehan's third season with the Cowboys and his second as offensive coordinator

One problem for those hoping Robert Griffin III comes to Dallas in a backup role this offseason: Apparently, offensive coordinator Scott Linehan isn’t a fan of the former Heisman winner.

ESPN’s Ed Werder told NFL Live this week that, aside from Linehan not liking Griffin’s style of play, there’s a feeling that he wouldn’t really fit in the Cowboys’ offense.

"Not a lot of people in Dallas think he's a great fit in Jason Garrett's offense, and I'm told that Scott Linehan, the offensive coordinator, is really not a fan of RGIII's and doesn't think he would excel with what the Cowboys would ask him to do," Werder said, via the Dallas Morning News.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has praised Griffin, but Jones praises just about any player he ever talks about at any length (with the notable exception of Tim Tebow), so we wouldn’t read too much into it.

"Well, I'm a fan of RGIII," Jones said. "He's got it. He's a driven young man. I'm a big admirer of RGIII."
