Report: Josh Brent Unlikely to be a Cowboy in 2013

Last December, a single-car crash left LB Jerry Brown dead and NT Josh Brent facing intoxication manslaughter charges

The Dallas Cowboys aren’t likely to have Josh Brent on the roster when they kick off the 2013 season, but they won’t make anything official until the league hands down its ruling on the nose tackle--who is facing intoxication manslaughter charges after a single-car accident killed his teammate and best friend, Jerry Brown, Jr., last year.

The NFL has seemed somewhat reluctant to make a ruling on Brent’s case to this point, due to its sensitivity and the fact that the legal process has yet to play out. But an unnamed source in contact with the Dallas Morning News said this week that a punishment could come down soon.

According to the Morning News, Brent has remained in contact with head coach Jason Garrett throughout the offseason.
