Report: Field of Teams Interested in Peterson Grows to Six

The field of teams reportedly interested in Adrian Peterson just keeps widening

The field of teams reportedly interested in Adrian Peterson keeps growing.

Last week, it was reported that the Oakland Raiders had joined the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals as teams with some interest in the two-time NFL rushing champion. Now, according to a report, the field has grown to six--and it doesn’t include those Raiders.

Per the Pioneer Press, the Cowboys, Cardinals, Falcons, Jaguars, Buccaneers and Chargers are in the mix, and if a deal is going to get done with one of the teams, it’ll happen in the next week.

"If he's not traded next week, [the Vikings are] going to keep him," said a source “close to the situation.”

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones cast some doubt on the idea that the team is looking to make a move for Peterson earlier this week, when he said he doesn’t see them trading draft picks for a veteran player--like Peterson.
