Report: Danny Coale Likely Out Until Early August

Coale suffered a fractured foot during the first day of OTAs

After fracturing his foot on the very first day of organized team activities, rookie receiver Danny Coale seemed hopeful that he would be able to return in time for the pre-training camp mini-camp for rookies and selected veterans in the week leading up to the opening of practices in Oxnard. But according to a report, that’s not going to happen.

A source in contact with the Dallas Morning News
indicates that Coale will likely be sidelined until early August as he continues his rehab the foot, which required surgery shortly after the injury occurred.

A fifth round pick out of Virginia Tech, Coale was said to be in the mix for the No. 3 receiver spot, a job that remains completely in the air after Laurent Robinson departed Dallas for a truckload of money in Jacksonville earlier this offseason.

This isn’t to say that the injury puts Coale out of the running for the third receiving job, of course, but whenever he does return to the practice field, it appears that he’ll have some catching up to do.
