Report: Cowboys Sign WR AJ Jenkins

Jenkins was a first round pick by the San Francisco 49ers back in 2012

With OTAs opening at Valley Ranch, the Dallas Cowboys signed wide receiver and noted former first round bust AJ Jenkins on Tuesday, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.

A University of Illinois product, Jenkins was one of a handful of veterans to work out at Valley Ranch last week, a group that included running backs Ben Tate and Felix Jones. He comes as the fourth receiver added to the roster this offseason, the others being undrafted free agents George Farmer, Lucky Whitehead and Antwan Goodley.

Back in 2012, Jenkins was selected 30th overall by the San Francisco 49ers but only lasted a year there, appearing in three games and catching no passes. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs following his rookie season, and put up eight catches for 130 yards in his first year there.

Last year with the Chiefs, he had nine catches for 93 yards. He is still looking for his first NFL touchdown.
