Report: Cowboys Looking to Hire Michigan DBs Coach Greg Jackson

The Cowboys have been without a DBs coach since Jerome Henderson left for Atlanta last month

The Dallas Cowboys had already interviewed six candidates for their vacant defensive backs coach position going into this week, and on Wednesday, they expanded the field to seven.

The Cowboys have apparently decided they want Michigan DBs coach Greg Jackson for that role and, according to Charan Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, they are currently trying to hire him. Jackson coaches the safeties under Jim Harbaugh in Ann Arbor, and spent 12 years as a safety in the NFL.

Jackson followed Harbaugh to Michigan after four years as assistant DBs coach with Harbaugh’s 49ers, which stands as his only NFL coaching experience to this point.

At the collegiate level, Jackson has had stops at Idaho, Louisiana-Monroe, Tulane and Wisconsin.

The Cowboys lost their longtime secondary coordinator, Jerome Henderson, to the Falcons earlier this offseason.
