Report: Cowboys, Bailey “On the Same Page”

Dan Bailey is set to become a restricted free agent in March

Before departing Valley Ranch for the offseason Cowboys kicker and restricted free agent-to-be Dan Bailey told reporters that he’d love to stay in Dallas, but that he and his camp would just wait and see what happens. On the other side, we’d imagine the Cowboys will do all they can to keep the fourth-year Oklahoma State product.

Bailey has been a rock for the always tumultuous Cowboys, a model of consistency on a frustratingly inconsistent team. He’s coming off a season in which he went 28 of 30 on field goal attempts, and the last of those two misses came way back in Week 4.

According to Mike Fisher of CBSDFW.com, Dallas has indeed taken notice and want to sign Bailey to a long-term deal. Beyond that, the two sides are reportedly “on the same page” in negotiations.

This is undoubtedly positive news for Dallas, a team that can’t really afford any more question marks along the roster than already exist.
