Report: Cowboys Agree to Two-Year Extension with Chris Jones

Jones has been the Cowboys full-time punter for the past two seasons

It looks like Chris Jones will be doing the punting in Dallas through the 2017 season.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Jones has agreed to a two-year extension with the Cowboys.

He signed his restricted free agent tender for the 2015 season last week and, with the extension, he can earn up to $4.2 million over the next three years.

Jones’ deal comes with $750,000 guaranteed.

Jones has been in Dallas since 2011, but he’s only served as the team’s full-time punter since 2013. In the past two seasons, Jones averaged 45.2 yards per punt and pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line 51 times.
