Report: Brandon Carr To Visit Dallas Tuesday Night

The free agent cornerback brought down four interceptions with the Chiefs in 2011

According to sources in contact with ESPN Dallas, the Dallas Cowboys will host free agent cornerback Brandon Carr on Tuesday night in hopes of signing him to what will most likely be a pretty big contract.

Carr, who registered four interceptions with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011, would replace Terence Newman--who was released on Tuesday afternoon--if signed, and would provide an immediate (and much needed) upgrade to the Cowboys’ secondary. The 25-year-old has 11 career interceptions, and has started every game since the Chiefs selected him in the fifth round of the 2008 draft. The Chiefs’ coaching staff also credited Carr with 58 tackles and 13 pass deflections in 2011.

Dallas has long been in the market for a shut-down corner, and were in the running for the services of Nnamdi Asomugha last year before the Eagles swooped in at the 11th hour to pick him up.
