Redskins Planning Awesomely Unoriginal Bits for Hated Cowboys

Guess what, folks. Washington D.C. hates the Cowboys.

And when the Redskins open their season against Dallas next Sunday night, it will cap off an official week of hatred in our nation's capital.

The highlights of the week were chronicled in The Washington Post and include such awesome ideas as "Honk if You Hate Dallas" day. In case you were wanting to take part, that's on Thursday, although I don't know what kind of reaction you'll get on 635.

Notice how it says "if you hate Dallas", not "if you hate the Cowboys". It's true, people up there just don't like Dallas. I've heard stories about how it dates back to the unfortunate Kennedy assassination that happened in downtown Dallas, which might a little ridiculous, but whatever makes the rivalry more intense is good for me.

Growing up a Cowboys fan, I can attest to the fact that Cowboys fans hate the Redskins too, although I think D.C. is a fine place to visit.

There were periods of time when all the NFC East foes were the Cowboys' biggest rivals โ€” the Eagles in the Buddy Ryan era, the Giants in the Bill Parcells era (NYG Parcells era), and then again in recent years. The Redskins have been god awful for years now, but they're always hated.

In case you weren't sure about their hatred for Dallas, check out the events scheduled for Friday, when Redskins cheerleaders (not nearly as hot as the Cowboys cheerleaders) will be on the Today Show on NBC passing out "Beat Dallas" shirts, which is funny considering that show is filmed in New York, where there are Giants fans, who also hate the Cowboys โ€” and the Redskins. Nice try, idiot, un-hot cheerleaders.

Finally, on Sunday, the parking lot at FedEx Field will open at noon Eastern for the first time ever for an 8 p.m. kickoff. Great idea. If you plan on going up for the game, I'd lay low until about 7 and head into the stadium.
