On Tuesday, a number of ex-NFLers filed a lawsuit against the league in Houston, claiming that the NFL had actively covered up the connection between concussions and long-term brain injuries. Among these ranks were several Cowboys legends, including Bob Lilly, Randy White and Rayfield Wright.
All three of these guys are Hall of Famers, and their suit is just the latest in a rash of suits being brought against the NFL, which, numerous ex-players contend, profited off of the violent nature of the game with no regard of the long-term effects that would be incurred by the men who were involved in it.
Meanwhile, the NFL predictably disagrees. League spokesman Gregg Aiello said recently that, more or less, these charges are baseless. We’ll see soon who is right, as these proceedings will almost certainly end up in court.
