Ratliff, Bernadeau Sent to PUP List

DT Jay Ratliff and RG Mackenzy Bernadeau each dealt with injury issues throughout 2012

The injury issues that plagued defensive tackle Jay Ratliff throughout the 2012 season have apparently followed him into 2013.

Ratliff was one of two Cowboys placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list prior to the opening workouts of training camp on Sunday, along with right guard Mackenzy Bernadeau--who spent 2012 dealing with a series on injuries of his own.

Six Cowboys are now on the non-football injury list as well, having either failed or not taken the initial conditioning test required of all players: Recently signed tackle Demetress Bell, reserve center Ryan Cook, long snapper L.P. Ladouceur, starting left guard Nate Livings, reserve guard Ronald Leary and receiver Lavasier Tuinei.

We’ve talked about this before,” Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News. “We have conversations right after practice. I go in the training room. How did he do? OK. Can he do the same thing that he did today tomorrow? Should we scale him back? Should we push him forward? So we’ll have those day-to-day conversations and try to keep guys in the best shape possible as they come back from a variety of injuries.”
